The Insheim Geothermal Project

Insheim, Germany

In the town of Insheim, located south of Landau, a second geothermal power plant with an electrical output in the megawatt range was built in the Upper Rhine Graben. Since 2008, two wells with depths of 3,500 m have been drilled, and circulation and hydraulic testing, conducted between 2009 and 2010, was completed successfully.
